Service Description

Creating a Public Safety Drone Program is a complex undertaking. Based on the experience of successful programs, the Developing a Public Safety Drone Program training course was developed and designed to be taught in one-day format for public safety agency Administrators, Incident Commanders, Drone Supervisors and Operators to assist in developing and implementing an effective drone program. Just as the drone is a combination of multiple parts to be fully functional, considerations for a successful drone program go far beyond choosing the vehicle itself. Creating a drone program requires governance, policies and procedures, defined missions, selection of unmanned aircraft and payloads, training/proficiency, data management, maintenance, and thorough documentation of training and flights. Who Should Attend The course is designed for all administrators, managers, supervisors, future operators and policy writers. Prerequisites: FAA Part 107 or public agency COA certification preferred. Completion of FEMA IS-100, 200, 700 and 800 Course fees are set for a minimum of 6 students per course to host, if the minimum is not met the course will be cancelled, postponed or the full fee will be applied.

Conditions for training are dependent on weather, site location and seasonal environment. In the event of a major storm in the region, there is a chance that the course will cancel so that attendees and instructors can support various agencies, in this case, a full refund will be applied.
